Maptero treats privacy as a feature. The legal pages are linked from the footer on every screen.
How your voice is handled
When you use voice, your audio is sent out to be transcribed and interpreted, and then it is gone: the audio itself is not kept beyond that brief processing moment. The text of what you said is kept for a limited time in your activity history, so you can look back at what you asked for. Maptero does not sell your data and does not use it for third-party advertising.
Exporting your data
You can download everything Maptero holds for you at any time. Go to Account, then Privacy, then "Export my data." You get a single file with your profile, all your tasks, projects, and contacts, your project statuses and their journals, your activity history, and your settings. This is your data to take with you whenever you want.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Account, then Privacy, then "Delete my account." For safety you type the word DELETE to confirm. There is then a 30-day grace period during which you can change your mind and cancel the deletion (a banner reminds you of the date it is scheduled for). After 30 days, your account and all its data are permanently removed. This step cannot be undone.
Cookies
Maptero uses only the few cookies it needs to work: one to keep you signed in, one to remember your language, and one to remember your time zone so dates show correctly. A short banner explains them on your first visit and does not come back once dismissed.
Accessibility
Maptero is built with accessibility in mind: you can move through the app by keyboard, dialogs trap focus and close with Escape, errors are announced to screen readers, and icon-only buttons carry labels. Goal status is shown by shape as well as color, so it reads clearly for colorblind users.
